Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired? Try this:

I have absolutely no formal training in anything medical whatsoever (unless lifeguard CPR counts?), but that hasn't stopped me from becoming a HUGE advocate of vitamins. Just ask any of my closest friends, I'm constantly shoving a multitude of different vitamins and supplements down their throats (you're welcome btw). Vitamins do so many things for your body, and without them your body would stop functioning entirely. To make my point a little more clear, here's a little analogy taken from http://www.vitamins-nutrition.org:

"Think of vitamins kind of like the fluids in your car. If you have no oil (vitamins) in your car, it does not matter how much gasoline (calories) you put in your car, your car will not run. For this reason, it is critically important to ensure a proper supply of vitamins in your car. Unlike the oil in your car, many vitamins are purged from your body daily. A high-quality liquid multivitamin will replenish lost vitamins and minerals."

Vitamins are especially important to college students for many reasons. College students sleep less, go out more and eat worse than any other age demographic. These three reasons alone cause a major depletion of crucial vitamins and minerals. Please please please, at the very least, take a freaking multi-vitamin. You'll have more energy, a stronger immune system and just feel better all around.

EASY Fall Hairstyles that I LOVE

As you all will soon learn, I AM OBSESSED WITH HAIR. For a short period of time I even contemplated the idea of throwing away my college degree and going to hair school. Mom and Dad were so proud...

Anywho, I've dedicated myself to becoming the be all, end all, hair guru. Lucky you. Here are some of my favorites of the season thus far:

Sexy Waves

These loose waves are perfect for a night out.
Works for any length of hair, but layers are definitely needed.

1. To begin, start off with freshly washed hair. Apply a volumizing product and blow dry with a round brush.
2. Section hair off with clips; first from bottom to top, then left to right.
3. Take two inch sections of hair and wrap them around a 2" curling iron away from the face.
** A little advice with curling irons... DO NOT use the clamp. Instead, hold the iron vertically and wrap sections of hair around the barrel and hold end piece with fingers. This creates a much more natural look. I ALWAYS recommend doing this to avoid looking to prom-y or dated.
4. When finished curling hair, flip head upside down and apply hairspray. Twirl curls together with fingers to define curls.
**The key to this look is making it look effortless. You don't want a heavy, crunchy look.
Trust me.

The Pony Knot

Flirty with a touch of class.
Perfect for any length.

1. Begin by creating a deep side part. This helps to create an undeniably girly feel.
2. Tease hair at the crown of your head to create volume.
** To find the crown of your head, place fingers on tips of ears and bring them to the top your head. Where your fingers meet is you ideal place to tease your hair.
3. Using your fingers, rake hair into ponytail and secure with clear elastic.
4. Pull a 1/4" section of hair from the bottom of the pony tail and wrap around the elastic. Secure ends with a bobby pin on the underside of pony tail.
** This style looks great with sleek straight hair as well as with natural, wavy hair.

Side Swept Pony

So easy and so chic. Perfect for going out or date night.
Works best on shoulder length or longer hair.

1. Start by curling entire head with 1 1/2 " curling iron starting approximately 2 1/2" from scalp
** If your hair falls easily, first prep hair with lightweight hairspray.
2. After curling hair, flip head over and apply hairspray. Avoid the "trailer scrunch" look by applying only a minimal amount of hairspray. This look is meant to be soft... not crunchy.
3. To create soft look, gather hair to one side with hands (not brush) and secure with clear elastic. Smooth flyways on top with styling cream.

Faux Bob

Perfect for the haircut-phobe.
Works best on longer hairstyles.

1. This look requires a bit of grip, so begin by applying hairspray liberally to hair.
2. Curl hair with hot rollers and allow to sit for at least 15 minutes or until cool.
3. Take curls down and tease the underside of hair at the nape of the neck.
4. Loosely pin the back of the hair with hair pins, not bobby pins (yes, there is a difference).
5. Leave the front layers down to fall freely around face.
** This hairstyle may not feel entirely secure, but RELAX. It's supposed to feel a little loose so it looks romantic, not overdone.

Rude Awakening

Oh my God. Can you imagine going to bed with your man and waking up to find a car on top of you the following morning? Talk about a wake-up call...
Kristin Palmer and Trent Wood, both students at University of Nevada, Reno, woke up to find themselves in this very predicament.
It took the couple a few minutes to realize what actually happened. Palmer explained to reporters that she immediately assumed an earthquake had occurred and the roof had fallen onto them.
For 42 minutes the couple lay trapped while hot fluids and oil leaked onto them. Palmer's head was actually trapped up in the engine. Talk about an uncomfortable position!
The couple later found out that a drunk driver had stolen a car and purposely driven into the house, thinking it was his ex-girlfriend's (Uh ... crazy ex?).
Despite the dramatic accident, both Palmer and Wood walked out of the crash with only a few minor burns and scratches.

Jeeeeeeeezzzzz! Count your lucky stars kids .. this could have been you!
