The Best Way to Keep Wrinkles at Bay

Add this easy supplement to your day and you may be able to forgo this...

I know, I know. We're in our twenties for God's sake, do we really have to be concerned with wrinkles right now? The answer is YES! Preventative measures are the only proven way to reduce your chances of premature aging. Applying sunscreen daily, drinking plenty of water, eating well, avoiding excessive amounts of smoking/drinking and getting plenty of sleep are definitely ways to prevent the onset of wrinkles, but for many of us these are not easy feats.

As college students, we are constantly being subjected to poor eating habits, inadequate amounts of sleep, and often times consume more alcohol than water. For most of us, switching to a more dermatologic-friendly lifestyle isn't an option. However, there is a supplement (in addition to the multi-vitamin you SHOULD be taking ... scroll down for more info) that has recently been proven to help skin's appearance now and also in the future. Fish oil!

According to Mind 1st, "Fish oil containing the Omega 3 essential fatty acid EPA helps to prevent wrinkles and can delay the ageing process of the skin according to recent research published in the Journal of Lipid Research in 2005. Scientists have also found that fish oil containing EPA can limit the damage to the skin produced by overexposure to the sun and help to reduce the negative effect of UV rays."

If preventing wrinkles doesn't make you want to take this supplement, then you should know that fish also reduces your chances of getting heart disease(#1 killer of women I may add) and ALL forms of cancer, prevents pregnancy complications, improves eyesight and dryness of the eyes, and helps to prevent all types of depression including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, ADHD and anger caused depression.

Oh, and its cheap. Get it at Walmart for about $5.

Go. Now. You'll thank me in about 20 years ...

LEATHER: a Do or Don't?

Excessive leather: bad girl chic or made for hog heaven?

While leather has been a stable in many fashionistas' closets for countless seasons, I can't help but question this overdone look. Now don't get me wrong, I love (faux) leather. It gives women the ability to add a bit of edge to any look, but I think it's safe to say excessive leather may be too much of a good thing.

However, I am absolutely loving single leather pieces incorporated into outfits. In fact, here's a few I'm dying to have hanging in my closet . . .

Faux Leather Mini Skirt

Akira, $49

I know this may look a little biker babe, but I love it. I think it would look great with a tucked in, loose fitted, white v-neck, with layered necklaces and a pair of killer heels. The key to rocking this look is adding a feminine touch, like the necklace below from Forever 21, to make this look sexy, not scary.

Classic Leather Jacket

Victoria Secret, $ 198

This classic piece has been a staple for decades. Leather jackets look great on both guys (Hello? James Dean anyone?) and girls. The best thing about this piece is that it's so versatile. For a casual look, pair your jacket with skinny jeans or for an edgier look throw it on over a floral dress to counteract the girliness. In addition, leather jackets now come in a plethora of styles and colors so your options are practically endless. Check out some of my favorites below:

Leather Crop Ruffle Jacket in Slate

Victoria Secret, $158

Leather Biker Jacket in Black

Silence and Noise, $128

Leather Motorcycle Jacket in Cognac

Victoria Secret, $219

Leather Zip Vest

Urban Renewal, $58

Like the jacket, the leather vest is great because of its versatility. Adding a leather vest to your outfit instantly adds both edge and style. It looks great with casual outfits as well as more formal ones. Doubting this look? Check out the pics below :)

Jennifer Tallulah, or better known as Jenny Humphrey to you GG fans, rocks this look with a white tee, black shorts, a studded bag and a menswear tie.

This model sports an edgy chic version of this look by pairing a leather vest with a floral dress and leather booties.

What do you guys think? Are these leather looks a do or a don't?

Faking it has never been so easy.

... a tan that is :)

Let's be honest. The majority of us were not lucky enough to have been blessed with naturally sun-kissed skin. As a result, many of us have become one of two things: slaves to then sun (bad!!!) or slaves to sunless tanners (good!). As a self-proclaimed (fake) tanaholic, I'm constantly searching for the best way to enhance my naturally whiter than white skin. At last, I have found it! Thanks to fellow blogger, Sarah at http://www.throughpinkcoloredglasses.com/, I will never have to be pale again. Thank God.

Alright ... drum roll please .. SALON BRONZE! Woo!

After reading Sarah's blog, I had to try it out for myself... It was SO easy to use and I was incredibly impressed with the results.

Originally only available on TV, Salon Bronze is now conveniently sold at Sally's Beauty Supply. The starter kit includes a spray gun and one canister of tanning solution. This kit will cost you a mere $12.99 (which you only have to buy once), and refills of the tanning solution cost $8.99. In my personal experience, I got about a tan an a half out of each canister. For best results, follow Sarah's instructions on her blog http://www.throughpinkcoloredglasses.com/.

Afraid you'll be orange? Not a chance. This is a picture of me after using Salon Bronze...
